Is Breast Reduction Right for You?

There are many reasons why women choose to get breast reduction surgery. Many undergo this procedure just for cosmetic concerns while others need it to relieve other medical conditions. Although the goal of breast reduction surgery is to decrease the size of the breast, the procedure can effectively help eliminate common symptoms usually associated with larger breast such as back, neck, and shoulder pain.

Of the many available techniques, the most minimally invasive is lipoplasty breast reduction. Lipoplasty breast reduction works by reducing the volume of the breast through liposuction alone. During an outpatient procedure, the physician carefully sculpts the breast tissue while removing excess fat. The removal of fat also allows for a moderate lift of the breast thus giving the breast a nicer shape. The procedure is performed with only local anesthesia which allows the patient to be awake during the procedure with very little to no discomfort.
